Why clients still call twice for a case status
July 14, 2026 · 6 min read
The status-call queue is a product problem, not a staffing problem. How we design secure status delivery that clients actually trust.
The failure moment
A court sets a hearing at 4:41pm. The client does not know. They call the firm, reach voicemail, call again the next morning, and by then anxiety has already done its damage.
Every one of those calls is a cost the firm absorbs and a trust withdrawal the client remembers.
What we build instead
Status updates arrive as a push notification the moment they are posted, wrapped in plain-language context and a one-tap path to message the attorney.
- Status rules mirrored from the matter record so nothing lands before the attorney has signed off
- Plain-language summaries above the raw filing text
- Direct thread to the lead attorney from the status update itself
- Read receipts so staff know the message landed
What changes
Firms we have shipped this for see inbound status-call volume drop sharply within the first two months, and client satisfaction scores move with it.
